• Water Supply: Your real Christmas tree acts like a giant cut flower and will constantly absorb water. Ensure the tree stand's water reservoir is kept full of fresh water daily, especially during the first week when it can drink a surprising amount.
• Placement: Position your tree in a cool, indoor spot away from direct sunlight and heat sources like radiators or air vents. Drastic temperature changes and dry drafts will accelerate dehydration.

A common mistake in caring for Poinsettias is over-watering. We recommend the "finger test" method.

Insert your finger about an inch into the soil. If it feels completely dry, it's time to water. Water thoroughly until it drains from the bottom, then be sure to empty any excess water from the saucer to prevent root rot. For longer-lasting blooms, place it near a window with bright, indirect light.

The best method is to "check daily and keep the reservoir full," rather than watering on a fixed schedule.

Each tree's water intake will vary depending on its size, species, and the temperature/humidity of your home. Simply make it a habit to check the water level every morning or evening and top it up as needed. A 6-foot tree might absorb over a litre of water per day during its first few days indoors.
